Re: Ati 4890 Blank Screen
Have you tried leaving the new graphics card out and trying the onboard/integrated graphics?perhaps your BIOS needs set to run the new graphics card. Two things you can do to solve the ati 4890 black screen problem.1] Restart your pc and boot into safe mode and completely remove the card a reinstall it. Still no good... go back to the start put the old card in....will it boot ok?
Re: Ati 4890 Blank Screen
Can you boot into safe mode? If so boot in & look in device Manager in my computer, is the device installed properly? Try to Clear CMOS jumpers and then return BIOS, Once you've cleared the CMOS, you'll need to immediately go into the BIOS setup screens and redo all your settings, date, time, HD's, etc.etc. At that point, you may reset video to PCI (disable onboard) and re-insert your ati 4890.
Re: Ati 4890 Blank Screen
Did you try putting your old graphics card back in to see if that still works? Disable the on-board graphics by going in the BIOS and then try again. There could be a problem with your monitor or your motherboard since you can't even see anything in safe mode. Make sure you update the graphic card drivers from the manufacturer site.
