Turn on sshd and Make sure your card (eth0) is properly configured with correct IP address and router address. Run # ifconfig -a and # route command.

Have you tried to ping the server ? Did you verify the ssh service on your server ? Is the port 22 opened ? Is root allowed to ssh to the sever ? Use ifconfig command to configure IP address and route command to setup correct router address.

If you can't ping her public IP address, you need solve the address issue first.Make sure firewall is not blocking your access, Iptables commands can be entered by command line interface, and/or saved as a Firewall script. Finally make sure you are using a router and not a proxy server.
