Linksys Router -- Block Wan Request
I am using Linksys Routers & was configuring it after formatting my computer & found that "block wan request" on Linksys Router was set enabled. Actually I wanted to know why was it set to enabled?? What difference it will make if i change it to disabled...??? I have stilled not changed it but still require to know... Please Help...!

To Disable the "block wan request" You need to follow the following steps...!
- Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router.
- In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use "admin".
- Click on the security tab and uncheck the option 'Block Anonymous Internet Requests' and then click save settings.
- To open your Gaming ports go to Applications and Gaming tab.

The 'block wan request' can avoid that its network pinged, or detected by other users of Internet. Characteristic Block WAN Solicitar also adds to another safety measure for its network hiding its network of ports. Both functions of Block WAN Request characteristics that is more difficult for the external users to work their way in the network.

The 'block wan request' is the firewall for your computer & disabling this service means closing your firewall by reading the above features about it...! So i will suggest you to not to disable this service...
