Codecs not supported in Windows Media Player
When I try to play a media file in my Windows Media Player, it says :
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."
The same media file was working successfully on my friend's WMP, I think it's the codecs which are not supporting. HELP..!!
Re: Codecs not supported in Windows Media Player
Download K-Lite Codec Pack
Codecs are required to encode and/or decode (play) audio and video. K-Lite Codec Pack is a collection of codecs and related tools. The K-Lite Codec Pack is designed as a user-friendly solution for playing all your movie files. With the K-Lite Codec Pack you should be able to play 99% of all the movies that you download from the internet.

Re: Codecs not supported in Windows Media Player
If you have installed different media players (other than Windows Media Player) on your system, like Nero or Power DVD or Real Media Player, you can use these media players to view the videos and other media files. Otherwise, get the compatible codecs to play media files in Windows media player.
