.NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1...(KB963707) faliure.
Basically this failed to to download. I tried to download it again but it
said I have all the updates I need. Yet my 'update history' says it failed.
The Error Code is : 0x80070BC2. I found the update in my Temp folder (please
don't ask my how or why). I use Firefox if that's any help. Is there anyone
who can help me please?

<cmd_output OS="XPsp3">
E:\>set /a c = 0xbc2

E:\>net helpmsg %c%
The requested operation is successful. Changes will not be effective until the system is rebooted.
</cmd_output>
That doesn't look like an "error" code to me. Are you rebooting?
What other symptoms are you getting--after the reboot? ; )

I've opened the file and it says this:

I know it says "click yes to restart" but it doesn't give me anything to
click on to restart! However, I have just looked in my "Add or Remove" folder
and it says that (KB963707) is currently installed. So I presume that
everything is OK? If that is so, would it be OK to empty my temp folder of
this (KB963707)?
Re: .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1...(KB963707) faliure.
Not until you do a reboot--the old version of some module(s) is still being used.
After the reboot and after you have confirmed that the new version
of the modules are in place, if you want.
Re: .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1...(KB963707) faliure.
Okay, I have rebooted, what do I need to do to confirm that the new modules
are in place?
It says that the program is currently installed on my 'Add or Remove
Programs'. Do you think I'm set then?
Re: .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1...(KB963707) faliure.
It depends on the implementation of the fix. You can get clues from
the associated KB article and TechNet Security Bulletin (if available)
or from the update's install log.
Oh. KB963707? AU hasn't shown it to me yet. Looks like it is just
an optional hotfix somehow (mis?)categorized as high priority.

Frankly I don't know why it would think that I would need it because I have
never had FireFox installed let alone its ".NET Framework Assistant 1.0"
and this is only a single user machine. So I won't be able to help you
by referring to my logs for this update. Then the only clues you will have
is from your install logs.
Probably. A test would be whether it is still offered to you via either WU/AU.
You're welcome.
Re: .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1...(KB963707) faliure.
The Firefox .NET Framework Assistant is part of .NET 3.5, and is installed
regardless of whether Firefox is present or not ... at least, the original
version was. The behaviour of the updated version hasn't been well documented.
Harry.
Re: .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1...(KB963707) faliure.
My AU still hasn't seen it. MU only. Same thing with the other Office
related update that's supposedly high priority.
Meanwhile wuredir is *still* PerUpdate regulated. ; \
RE: .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1...(KB963707) faliure.

anywhere, just a filure notice.
