Amd Athlon 64 x2 7750 heats up
hie,
I have AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 BE processor and the ASUS motherboard. I am using the same AMD stock cooler which came along with this processor. In the BIOS, I have set the Vcore Voltage to 1.32 max by using power save mode. But the temperature still reaches upto 55*C (at idle) and upto 60*C (under load). Is my processor heating up ? What should I do ? kindly suggest something....thnx

Your problem indicates the high power consumption of the processor chip. It is a native quad. It seems that AMD has designed just two processors : Phenom and Phenom II, and they disable parts of them in order to get a complete market coverage.
However, I would like to see more efficient native dual core and tri cores in the future.

Try to get Stock HeatSink (HSK) for your Athlon 64 x2 7750 processor. The heatsink will rather help your processor to keep the temperatures at the decent figures and maintain it to keep cool.

Artic Cooling Freezer 64 is a good HSF, which is widely used among many people. As far as the hsf's fitting your motherboard is concerned, it is a AM2 cooler and a AM2 motherboard, so you should have no problems with it's fittings.
