Sql server 2005 log backup failed
In our organisation, there is a sql server which is backed up every night. and the backup of all the transaction logs is made. Since some days i'm getting this error "BACKUP LOG cannot be performed because there is no current database backup" I don't know what is wrong. I'm running the server in full recovery mode. Help! :crybaby:

The Server is alright and nothing is wrong. When running in full recovery mode, there should be a backup made for the database before making the backup of the log. Try backing up the the database and then backup the logs and see if that works!? :thumbup1:

As you said you are in full recovery mode. Switch to simple mode before doing anything, and now again switch back to the full recovery mode. Backup the database and now perform the log backup what do you see? This might help you solve the problem, if not atleast a step closer to solving it..! :thumbup1:

Guys, many thanks for your suggestions. I still don't know what has happened to the system, still in full recovery mode. As soon as i backed up the database, the log backup were just fine then. This was a weird but a great learning experience. Thanks again for helping me out.. :notworthy
