How to remove windows media player in vista
I want to remove windows media player 11 from my windows vista but when i try to remove it from add remove program it says error "80070005 General access denied". Does anyone know how to uninstall Windows Media Player completely from windows vista system? Any help will be extremely appreciated.

Start the computer in safe mode. To do this, follow these steps:
- Restart the computer.
- Press F8 while the computer is restarting.
- Click Safe Mode, and the press ENTER.
- Restart the computer.
- Press F8 while the computer is restarting.

- Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
- Click Windows Media Player 11, and then click Remove.
- Follow the prompts to uninstall Windows Media Player 11, and then restart the computer when you are prompted.

To Uninstall Windows Media Player go to menu > Start >Control Panel > Add/Remove programs. Select Windows Media Player 11 from the drop down list, click on delete button and Restart your Computer to save all settings.

To remove WMP 11 from vista delete the registry key. Click on start then go to run, type regedit command which will open all the registry windows. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then go to software. click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer..............delete that folder then restart the system.

You can't because in Microsoft's "wisdom" they incorporated Media Player into the operating system itself. So they only way to "fix" WMP is to reinstall Vista or attempt to repair it. Try using your computer's recovery disks.
