What is my POP3 server address
I want to use Microsoft Outlook 2007 for handling email's. While configuring it, Outlook asked me POP3 server address. I don't know about it. Is there any way to know my POP3 server address? Who will provide me the POP3 server address? Is it necessary to mention it?
Re: What is my POP3 server address
Who is your email client? Visit your email provider's website and see the instructions on how to set up Microsoft Outlook. It should be something like "pop.mail.email_provider.com". For example, yahoo's pop3 server address is "in.pop.mail.yahoo.com". You may or may not need to provide some ports to allow emails to be received. You may also need to allow the same port on your firewall or router. If you still has some difficulty then do post back.
Re: What is my POP3 server address
POP3 is basically the incoming mail server and SMTP is the outgoing mail server. Both of them are unique for each email client. It is only the email service provider that can help you and provide you the POP3 server address. The POP3 server address should be something like "mail.domain_name". If you are using ISP connection, you need to contact your ISP for POP3 server address.
Re: What is my POP3 server address
The simplest way to know the POP3 server address is here:
- Go to "Start"
- Click on "Control Panel"
- Select "Mail"
- Under "Email Admin" section, POP3/SMTP Server should be listed
Usually the POP3 address should be like "mail.yourdomain.com".
The above thing is possible if you are on Windows Server.
