You cannot do that! Gmail is a email service and its not a program. You cannot use an internet based service as a software for windows unless the Email provider has a program developed by them which you can use. Like Outlook express. You can configure gmail in Outlook and set it as your default email address and use outlook as the default email client. :thumbup1:
I know gmail is not a software, but a service provided by google. I wan't a work around that, whenever i click on any link having 'mailto:' instead of opening outlook, gmail's compose mail should open. I hope i'm clear now..! :biggrin: Please help...!
You can designate Gmail as your default mailto handler. This means that when you click on any hyperlinked email address, a Gmail compose window will open so you can send a message to that address from Gmail.
To do so in Windows:
- Download the Gmail Notifier.
- Right-click the Notifier icon in your system tray, and select Options.
- Check the box next to Use Gmail for internet mailto: links.
- Click OK.
