Windows don't work after going in sleep mode

Hi,
I use HP Pavilion note book. Whenever I put the laptop in sleep mode my windows stops working. I need to restart the system again by removing the power supply and placing it back again. It is a matter of fear. What can be the issue. Whenever I close my lid the comp goes to sleep and by opening it back again there is no display. Then after pressing the power button for some time it goes off completely. How to troubleshoot this issue.

This is only happens when there is problem in the video card of a system. I think your video card is bad, due to which you cannot see the display after the sleep mode. It take's a long time for a bad video card to run the display after running from sleep mode. Before replacing the video card try this. On your desktop at the right hand corner where the clock lies click on power options. You can also access it from control panel. Look in the list of advanced setting. Search hybrid and disable it. If still the same problem arises and then you will have look out for a video card replacement.

You can find the exact problem by System File checker. For this you will need you Windows CD. It will scan your system and look out weather were is the problem. Now first insert your windows disc. Exit the autorun window. Now go to start menu and click on run. Type cmd in the box and click ok. Also you can access cmd from start menu > programs > accessories. In the DOS window type sfc /scannow. See the result after the scanning.

I am posting some simple solutions for your problem. The first one is getting rid of some extra residual charge can fix up your problem. Switch off the system. Disconnect all the power supply. Take out the cmos battery and switch on the computer again. Now shut down the system and replace the battery. Turn on again. The second thing you can do is configure your screen saver settings. Go to power option. If it is in Balance or Power saving mode then it shut downs your hard drive after 30 minutes. I had changed to High Performance to stop the issue. But you can use some other options also.
