Outlook File "Access denied" error on Windows Vista
I had installed Windows Vista along with Microsoft Office 2003 on my pc. Whenever i try to open my data file from Outlook file menu, it shows me an error message stating that "access denied". Even i tried to check out my file security settings and it shows me that my account has a full access. So, can any body tell me that why i can't open my data file in Outlook? Doe s any body knows about it? Kindly help me out to resolve the above issue.

You need to check out the followings things on your pc.
- Firstly, check out whether you have the complete access to your own profile, which is usually stored in"Documents and Settings" folder under their username.
- Secondly, check out whether the user has the complete access to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive in the registry.
Note: - in order to get rid of the above issue, all user profile object permissions (including registry) need to be adjusted to allow for the specific logged-on user, either with administrative or user privilege in order to access the files on your pc.

Check out whether the file that you are trying to open on your pc is not corrupted. Most often, the corrupted files doesn't get open on the system and shows the above error message on the desktop screen.

Check out the Outlook .pst file properties and see that you haven't selected the "read only" attribute on your system. If, yes the uncheck that particular box and it will help your to resolve your above issue.
