Unable to save the file, file is too large
I have file downloaded from the microsoft site which is in some MB's, when i try to save the file to the location it gives me strange message, suggesting that unable to save file, file is too large. and the problem is that I can't break it up into smaller documents, because I need to index it. I've tried using the master document/sub document method, but I still get the error. How do I get around this?
Re: Unable to save the file, file is too large
I always use ALL words unless I get the error message verbatim and not only the meaning. In your case I used 'word file too large can not save' and got (more) than 100 hits. If your disk needs defragmentation, you MAY not have the 15GB free you think you had. WORD needs contiguous space. Only you can say whether you, Have a document with links which might be corrupt, Are networked although now working locally, Use certain utilities which confuse Word.
Re: Unable to save the file, file is too large
If you are getting an error message suggesting that "Unable to save the file, file is too large" and want to increase the maximum size of list template you can run the following command:
Quote:
stsadm -o setproperty -propertyname max-template-document-size -propertyvalue 50000000
from the following location in server : C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\BIN
