My HP Director software has stopped working and I doubt that it had happened because of the recent Microsoft updates. I can guess that it stopped working after the updates that had done 2 days back. I need to scan images from the my HP scanner and I need it urgently. How can I get the HP director software back to working? Or maybe I can download it from some other sources and that setup will work!
Try using Windows Photo Gallery. Choose "File", then "Import From Camera or Scanner". Choose your printer and you should be able to scan.
The executable file for HP Director is located under C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqdirec.exe . are you able to find and open that?
GO TO www.hp.com/#Product then hit SUPPORT & DRIVERS then just enter your product and its sr. no., it will lead you to the download.
It's not available as a separate download -- it is only bundled with the rest of the software available for whatever product the user owns.
Visit HP's website (below), search for the product they have, and download the software bundle. From there, install HP Director.

You can go on the link given below and download the printer software. Click on the operating system you are using for example : XP or Vista. Click on download only button and save the file on your desktop. Please connect the USB cable before installing the printer software.
