windows service pack error code 3701

Hi Everyone!

I have a HP laptop & have installed vista installed in it & whenever i tried to upgrade it it always gives me the error code 3701. Does anyone know about it ?????

Reboot it again & then try if it works.

There are a few things that could be causing this issue, please try these steps first,

1. Open Administrative Tools by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel,and then clicking Administrative Tools.

2. Double-click Services. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

3. Right-click the Windows Update service, and then click Stop.

4. Click start, then click all programs, then click accessories, then right click command prompt and choose to run as administrator.

Type:
net stop wuauserv
regsvr32 wuapi.dll /s
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll /s
regsvr32 wucltux.dll /s
regsvr32 wudriver.dll /s
regsvr32 wups2.dll /s
regsvr32 wups.dll /s
regsvr32 wuwebv.dll /s
net start wuauserv
exit

Restart the system and see if it can update now.
