Cannot copy more than 3.99GB ISO to external HDD
hello guys
recently i have buy a Transcend 320GB external HDD. My problem is that when iam copying any 4Gb above .ISO file from my internal HDD to external HDD, it's actually copying 3.99GB everytime. Can anyone tell me what kind of problem is this?????????
Re: Cannot copy more than 3.99GB ISO to external HDD
You need to format the drive in the NTFS format. If you are only getting 3.99GB (~4Gb) then your drive might be formatted to FAT16 which has a 4GB limit. Fat 32 has a 127GB limit.
NTFS has a limit that far exceeds anything we will need in the next 5 years.
Re: Cannot copy more than 3.99GB ISO to external HDD
I think this is not the problem whether it copies 3.99 GB, 4 GB file might be only is of 3.99 GB but it would be showing you 4 GB, I will suggest you to check whether the file you are copying get stuck anywhere when you run the content of that file, if it is working properly then there won't be any problem, the problem in this arises when you are downloading file from the internet and it copies only certain amount of file size and it does not work. This same issues you could also see in the 4 GB pen drive, it reserves 1mb for its file system, it never copies 4 out 4 Gb It allows only upto 3.5 to 3.8 GB file size.

Re: Cannot copy more than 3.99GB ISO to external HDD
You need not format to convert from NTFS to Fat32.
You can folllow the below link

You can only copy large files if and only if your hard disk is of NTFS file system.
tx to microsoft windows
