Regional Code of Magnavox DVD players
I purchased a DVD player from my native place. I purchase the player from Kmart. It is manufactured by Magnavox. The problem with this player that it is not playing my DVD movies. It is a brand new player purchased just a few days before. I got some free DVD's with the player as a promotional offer. Those DVD's are working properly. But my DVD Movies are not either player nor showing any response the screen. I think this because of the regional codes. Now issue is how can i use my DVD's in Magnavox player.
Re: Regional Code of Magnavox DVD players
You DVD is locked with the region of place from where you had purchased. Only the DVD's or CD's purchased from that area will work in your player. This is actually done to create competition in the market for increasing sales. But you don't need to worry just follow my instructions below.
- Switch on the Player
- Press Open/Close button from the remote to open the CD Tray
- When the Tray is open Press 1111 ( Four time one slowly ) from your remote.
- Now Press 0 ( It is the region code. The code vary from 0 to 9 )
- Now Press Open/Close Tray button again to close the Tray.
- And now when you will insert a DVD it will play.

Re: Regional Code of Magnavox DVD players
Normally DVD players are locked with the region code. The code describes the region where they are produced. Due to which the only DVD from that particular reason can only play. There are just simple ways to clear up the region code. Press System Menu on Remote. Navigate to Preference page and press 1-3-5-5-6-6 from remote. Select the region. Switch Off and turn on back. If you are not able to enter in the preference coloumn, open the tray and leave it open.
