Touchpad stopped working

My Gateway MT6728 touchpad stopped working. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the synatics driver and still does not work. I have pressed Fn and F7 key and to no avail. The device harware states it is working properly what gives? How do I find out if the touchpad is junk? An usb mouse works fine but I would rather use the pad. Help:rofl_2: :crybaby:

Try updating your drivers. If you updated your drivers already and this is what caused trouble, try to roll back to the driver which were working well... :thumbup1:

Are the driver for the device showing in the add/remove program ? does your mouse left click works on a icon ? If yes please click on pointing device properties> device settings > reset device > apply > OK.

Do this -

1. Go to My Computer
2. Right click the blank area and select Properties
3. Click on hardware tab
4. Find your device in problem. In your case it's touchpad.
5. Click on '+' sign and right click
   
   • select Update Driver
   • select Properties and click Troubleshoot

Synaptics is showing on me "add/remove program" but the left click on touch pad is not operating.

Maybe something disables it.. try to enable it by pressing the "Fn" key and "F7". or check the setting go to Start\All Programs\ Console\Mouse\Touch Pad On/Off.
