I have a problem with new Internet explorer 8,it has no issue of speed, turning off or any other error.the problem is it gives pop up of "welcome screen" at every 24 hours.i am using windows xp sp3. is there any way to disable that pop up.Any recommendations and suggestions are appreciated.
you can enable and disable IE8 automatic update .first Close IE 8.Open the Group Policy Editor Windows XP SP3 .go in to Console Root then select Local Computer Policy in Computer Configuration Administrative you will find the templates Windows Components select Internet Explorer. in right hand panel you will see policy enable that policy.save the changes.
Run GPEDIT.MSC and you will Find "Administrative Templates",select "Windows Components" select "Internet Explorer" and Double click on Internet Explorer to get a long list and locate "Prevent Performance of First Run Customize Settings"Right click, select properties, and set to "Disable" Click on Apply, OK, and exit Group Policy Editor.
