I was trying to upgrade my BIOS for my Toshiba a215 laptop and by mistake my BIOS got Flash and now i am in big trouble. I have only few option available to bring my Toshiba a215 laptop up is to either send the laptop to manufacturer which i don't want to do. Is there any another method where i can recovery my BIOS.
To restore your BIOS try to download the latest version of your motherboards BIOS file to a floppy diskette and rename it AMIBOOT.ROM.Now insert the floppy disk in the floppy drive and turn On your system. If you are not able to access your floppy press and hold Ctrl-Home to force update. When you hear 4 beeps at that time remove the floppy disk and reboot your computer.
But i am having Award BIOS then in this case what steps i need to follow.
AWARD BIOS has similar procedure as compared to AMI :-
- First create a bootable floppy diskette
- Copy the BIOS file and flash utility to the diskette
- Create an text file with any text editor and add the following lines
@ECHO OFF
awdflash 12345678.BIN /py/sn/f/cc/r
- Exchange the awdflash with the name of whatever flash utility you are using, and replace the 12345678.BIN with the name of the BIOS file you are using.
