Save the following folder:
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\ Utilisateur *\Application Data\Mozilla
Under Vista: C:\users\ Utilisateur *\Application Data\Mozilla
Linux: /home/ Utilisateur /.mozilla/firefox/
(*) Replace user with the username of the current session.
To restore the configuration, copy this entire folder to the same location.

Re: Backup / Restore Firefox settings, bookmarks, history and the extensions installed
Another way to restore your backups which is really easy and intuitive.
On the menu bar, click Tools -> FEBE -> Restore and then select what you want to restore. FEBE will prompt you to select your backup files inside one of your backup folders.
The extension is obviously free to download and install.
