I want to create an application which will reflect the work it completes and if that application does some different work then that application status should get automatically changed, such as what we sees in the messenger services if any user is online it changed its status to online and vice versa when he goes offline.

Here i will provide some easy steps to change The Shortcut Icon
right-click on the icon on the desktop which your wanted to change.then click on the 'Properties' button there you would see the 'Change Icon' button then 'Change Icon' dialog with a list of available icons for the program*. select that icon again and click OK. If you don't like the icons on offer. there you have to 'Browse' button which you wanted to change, change folders c:\winnt\system. click on 'shell32.dll' then click on 'Open' button once you have select the icone click OK.
