I have installed AVG anti-virus on my home PC, when i restarted my computer after some time it gives me an error message saying that "SemiAniVirus.vbs" missing, i don't understand what is semi anti-virus i have installed only one anti-virus on my computer,earlier i had symantec anti-virus but when it get expires i removed that from my computer and installed AVG. please help how do i solve this problem.
You may find the Anti-virus settings if available then "C:\windows\system32\SemiAntiVirus.vbs." check at a given location, you may get it here, then if you find any files related to your previous anti-virus remove those files from there and then check for the result, it may happen that system still finds your earlier anti-virus files there and make your current virus preference as second one.
Most anti-virus tools uses vbscript for their virus protection and that could only be removed with the help of other anti-virus. But your current anti-virus should be capable of cleanning the registry,and that is why your computer system shows this error message every time you start your PC.
To resolve that issue go to start -> RUN -> regedit and search for SemiAntiVirus.vbs and then remove it.
