Re: How to unistall windows vista from dual boot computer
Windows Vista is powerful OS with lot of enhanced features and capabilities. Now it is quiet easier to remove the Vista from a dual boot option to use your old version of windows.
You will need to do the following :
- Restart your computer. Boot it in Windows XP
- Insert your Windows Vista Installation Disk in your CD/DVD drive.
- Click on Start Meny > Run
- and type the following: e:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt52 ALL /force
- Type your CD/DVD drive in the place of E:\. Normally it is by default.
- Restart your compute. Now the boot selection menu will not appear.
- Format your D: drive or where you had installed vista.
- Search and remove two files from your C: drive Boot.Bak and Bootsect.Bak.
Restart your computer.
You can merger your drives if neede. Use one of the below utilites to merge your partitions.
softwares :
Partition Magic 8.0
Super Fdisk
Easeus Partition Manager

Uninstalling your Windows Vista and putting back your Windows XP OS is actually a little tricky job. Making changes in the dual boot system make a many system crashes. I suggest you to first backup your valuable data. Because if some of the drive won't work you will loose all your information.
Do the following steps :
Restart and boot your computer from Windows XP bootable disc.
Start Recovery Console.
Run the Fixboot.
Run the fixmbr command to reset the master boot record.
Exit and restart the computer.
After startup format your Windows Vista Partition.
This will remove the Windows Vista OS from your computer.
