Internet Explorer 7 opens and closes immediately

From last week i am tried to solve my problem but I think I will not succeed. Internet Explorer version 7 opens and closes immediately. I scanned several times with anti-spyware software and remove errors, reinstalled IE 7 and restarted my pc but it is still impossible to open.

can someone help me ?

I think there will be virus or browser problem. Install another browser, type Firefox or Maxthon , both are compatible with Iexplorer.

Reset IE settings. Go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced. Click on "Reset" button. Click OK. Close all browsers. Reboot the computer.

Reregister the IEProxy.dll file. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Exit Internet Explorer 7 if it is running.
2. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
3. At the command prompt, type the following commands. Press ENTER after you type each command.

   regsvr32 IEProxy.dll

4. Start Internet Explorer 7.

new to the forum....just wanted to say that this fix worked for me....I was having the same problem with windows 8. I ended up taking off Internet Explorer 8 and went back to 7 and still had the problem. Scanned for adware, virus, etc and nothing worked......I finally found this post aand gave it a try and it worked!

Hello. Im new to the group. I tried everything listed here and i still cant get my internet explorer to stay open. I open it and it closes immediately.

Anyone have any other ideas?

As you have already done all the steps which are listed, try removing the browser completely from the computer and remove all the keys/files which are related to the browser. Reboot the system and reinstall the browser again. See if the problem persists.

this worked for me ,even for IE8 in Win7 thanks

After uninstalling IE8 which didn't solve the problem, I did the above and that did it for me in XP

*Edit* Like all other "solutions" they work at the moment but a day goes by and it's back to the same problem.

I've searched for days and short of the "smart" solution of reinstalling windows, I have tried everything and nothing works!

Have you tried to reset Internet Explorer to its default settings, follow these steps:

1. Close all Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer windows.
2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
3. In Control Panel, open Internet Options.
4. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
5. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
6. When Internet Explorer finishes restoring the default settings, click Close, and then click OK two times.
7. Close Internet Explorer, and then reopen it. The changes take effect the next time that you open Internet Explorer.

I've tried everything! Here is to list just a few:
1) Reset IE settings (mentioned above)
2) regsvr32 ieproxy.dll
3) Uninstalled IE8, ran IE7, reinstalled IE8
4) Cleaned computer with combofix, spybot, checked for viruses...
5) Disabled all add-ons and activex
6) Deleted the user profile and recreated a fresh one.

The weird thing is that what ever I seem to try, it fixes the problem for the moment but the next morning it's back. Another weird thing, when I do a run as and select an administrator account, it opens IE, I can then close it and run it as the regular user but just for a day or two and then it happens again.

Can you try to run Internet Explorer in 'No Add-Ons' mode:

Go to: Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons)

Alternatively, you can create a shortcut on your desktop with the following target path:

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff

If the problem does not occur in 'No Add-Ons' mode, then it's being caused by one of the add-ons that you have installed.
