Problems updating geforce 6200 driver
I was recently given an old pc and am trying to update the geforce 6200 card, i downloaded the latest driver from nvidia (using the nvidia tool to scan my system) but on restart my screen has reverted to 800x600 and 4 bit colour settings and i am unable to change them,
system specs are
Windows xp service pk 2
celeron 2.4 Ghz cpu
1.25 gb ram
hp pavilion f1523 monitor
Geforce 6200
Any help would be much appriciated

Hey!
I think the drivers are not working properly... Try to us the previous driver which worked perfectly... Or try a number of versions for the driver. May be the best one will work..! All the best!

- Stuck in 4 bit mode!
- Go to Device Manager and find the video card.
- Uninstall all the driver.
- Windows will try to plug and play the video card but DO NOT ANSWER THOSE PROMPTS. LEAVE THEM ALONE!! (again!!!)
- With no video driver install and without reboot after 1 to 5 step install the driver you wan to test with .When this step is all done, decline the offer to reboot.
Now do the Start, restart computer.
Hope it works for you better than it did for me.
