Tips to remove hibernation feature
If basically you don't want to use the hibernation feature of windows you can disable it.
The feature is stored hidden the drive where windows is called. It is called as hiberfil.sys. If the file is present than hibernation is enabled.
To stop the service Go to Start Menu > Control Panel
Select Performance and Maintenance > Power Option > Hibernate tab
and uncheck the Enable hibernation box.
The hibernation service will stop working.
Re: Tips to remove hibernation feature
Thank you for the tip. It was very helpful. I searched for more options on Internet and came across many posts with other users claiming that this can also be made possible by editing some registry files. I have came across one which will do the magic for you. Navigate to the following path after starting Registry Editor:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power
- Go to the value of REG_BINARY key "Heuristics"
- The 7th value, of that key, has a value 01 for on, and 00 for off
