Re: are we fools to do b.com?
First, you must wholly concentrate on your current course and try to improve your academic credentials. Also add something tangible to your CV in terms of extra-curricular activities. After B.Com you have a wide range of options. You can either go in for employment or pursue further studies.

Don't worry about your career. there are many options available for commerce graduate. First concentrate on your course and go for the best. Try to figure out what you like and make the decision accordingly.

Management in Hospitality and Tourism will be somewhat different from your Bcom background. MBA in Marketing and Retail will be somewhat analogous to your Bcom field, but then, there will be much of mathematics involved in Marketing and Retail. Even Hospitality and Tourism have great demand and job opportunities now. So you can opt for it if you want to avoid Marketing and Retail due to mathematics. Always check the syllabus and course-ware before getting admission for any field.

Yes, you can opt for Management in Hospitality and Tourism. It has great value now a days. It is particularly more advantageous for females. Also, for MBA, you can go for HR. But remember, all the MBA programs will have some amount of mathematics in their syllabus . You cannot avoid it completely.
As about opportunities compared to engineers, if a commerce background student and an engineering background student passes same MBA with same percentage of marks, then it is obvious that an engineer will have preference over a commerce student. So it depends much on marks and overall performance in MBA. Also, the selection of a candidate for a job between an engineer and commerce background student will depend mostly on the interview and smartness between the two if both are having similar marks and performance in MBA.
