Control your PC remotely with TweetMyPC
In windows we have remote desktop option which lets you to take full control of your Computer remotely. But there is an new App called TweetMyPC that allow us to Shutdown, Restart, LogOff your Windows PC remotely.With TweetMyPC, you can remotely log out, restart, or shut down your PC using a Twitter account! Once installed, you just have to enter some Twitter account details and restart Windows for TweetMyPC to be ready for action. It makes use of twitter like social networking service for the action.
The usage is really simple and the application checks for new tweets every one min.Once the software is installed, provide the twitter credentials of the new account to TweetMyPC and the next time you want to Logoff or shutdown your computer through twitter, just tweet from the newly created account meant for your PC.This solution is perfect if you don't want to use something like VNC to manage your system remotely, or you want a quick way to turn off your computer or reboot it without having to connect directly to it.
The app checks for new replies every minute by default. If you'd like your computer to reboot, log off the current user, or shut down, just log in as your PC's account and tweet "Logoff," "Shutdown," or "Restart."Right now TweetMyPC is simple, but the developer behind it plans to add more useful features soon, like the ability to display memory usage, reply with your computer's current IP address, or even execute specific commands.
Installation and Usage
- Download the setup file and Install.
- Go to www.Twitter.com and create a new Twitter account for your PC.This account will be used by TweetMyPC to monitor for new tweets
- Start TweetMyPC and then fill in the login details. Wait for some time for the application to verify your login details.
- Double click the Twitter Icon to start TweetMyPC
- When ever you want to shutdown , restart or logoff your PC. Just login to your PC's Twitter account and post a new Tweet (Shutdown, Restart, Logoff)
- TweetMyPC checks for new tweets every 1 minute

There is a 90 second period to allow users to finish what they are doing. Therefore it's not quite an emergency security tool, but it's still pretty useful.TweetMyPC is freeware, Windows only and requires .NET 3.5 or higher.TweetMyPC is useful if, for example, you're at the airport with your Blackberry and forgot to power down your home server or Maybe you started a huge file transfer before you left the office and want to turn your system off after the transfer is finished, or you're headed off on a business trip and forgot to shut down your system.
