Where is XPS viewer in Windows 7
Hi i am new to windows 7. I need to make make a XPS document so that can use to archive content in a standardized format or publish content in an easily viewable form and no one can edit my original work. One of my friend said that XPS viewer is there in Windows 7 but i am not able to find it. Could you guys make me where is it ? Or i need to install any software for the same ?
Re: Where is XPS viewer in Windows 7
Windows 7 has of course support for XPS. While installing Windows 7 you get the Microsoft XPS Document Writer printer which is used to print anything into an XPS document. On previous versions of Windows you needed to install a separate application for the same but Windows 7 contains an XPS Viewer by default.
If you have any XPS format file and When you click it will open automatically in the XPS Viewer. but if you need to open XPS viewer directly than just type xps in Start Search box and hit Enter. The file btw is xpsrchvw.exe and is situated at C:\Windows\System32\xpsrchvw.exe.

If your XPS viewer is not getting opened by clicking any xps document, than i think you need to install it from control panel. To do so Go to start and click control panel and open Programs and Features.Select Turn Windows features on or off in the left column of the Programs and Features window. Check off XPS Viewer and then click OK.

The default XPS viewer in windows is basically the same viewer that can be downloaded for previous Windows versions but has a much more Windows Vista/7 like interface.
