Windows Shutdown Button Missing Problem
I have got a very serious problem in my computer. The shutdown button in my start menu is missing. I restarted the PC so that it can be kinda OS fault. But still it has not appeared. Is this mean's that my windows is corrupted. How it will become normal.
Re: Windows Shutdown Button Missing Problem
Don't worry just try your old restore settings.
Click on Start Menu > Programmes > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.
Restore your computer to an old date.
The start menu will become normal.
Re: Windows Shutdown Button Missing Problem
The shutdown button is missing. It is also not accessible through Task Manager.
This cause due to the Local Computer Policy settings of your PC.
To resolve it do the following steps:
Go on Start Menu & Click on Run.
In the Run Dialog Box Type gpedit.msc and OK.
Go for the following option:
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and Taskbar
Double click on Remove and Prevent Access to the Shut Down command
Select any one of the option "Not configured" or "Disabled"
Shut Down the Group Policy window.
Re: Windows Shutdown Button Missing Problem
Hi
The run menu is actually in the assessories bit, and when i type the gpedit.msc is says windows cannot find it.
is there another way to get to the user configeration?
I actually pasted the 'gpedit.msc' into the search box, hit return and the shutdown button appeared. Windows 7 is getting very spookey!!!!! AND I FEEL ITS FULL OF BUGS.
Re: Windows Shutdown Button Missing Problem
Yes there is a other way to run that. For that you have to go in your Windows directory, which mostly the c drive. Go in your Windows Directory and then go in System32 folder. In that press G from your keyboard. Keep pressing till you get gpedit.msc. Double click on that to get the access. Basically when you type gpedit.msc in the search or run box and hit enter.

Re: Windows Shutdown Button Missing Problem
Didn't work for me.
But, this DID work for me:
You can restore the Start menu to its original, default settings.
Click to open Taskbar and Start Menu Properties.
Click the Start Menu tab, and then click Customize.
In the Customize Start Menu dialog box, click Use Default Settings, click OK, and then click OK again.
Good luck!
