I have set up a server for my work place with a team of 9 people. The problem is that after configuration, everybody else is getting normal ping rate but I am getting very high ping rate... around 800-900 and so. If I join another server, the ping rate is normal. I dont understand what is the problem because others can ping normally but the problem is only with my machine. What can I do to get it to normal?
Try a tracert to the server address,
Start -> Cmd -> tracert ip
Turn your router off and connect your comp directly to your modem and do another tracert.
Supply a traceroute. Where is your server located? It could just the international location you are trying to access or a more general problem.
How do you connect to the server? Through net? Sounds like a router issue to me - does it go away temporarily if you reboot your router? Some routers (cough DLink cough) can have issues with anything other than basic browsing.
Mine is not the problem with internet pinging. This server set up is a local server connected hardwired to all computers with crossover cabling. The high ping issue is only with my machine to server. So I doubt that my machine has a problem. Probably some crap that is creating high pings to the server. I need to trace it out. Anyways, thanks for helping me.
