ATI 4870 causes BSOD on Vista 64 bit
Hey Guys...
I have Vista 64-bit installed in my computer and it seems that it isn't liking my video card. Well i have to go through a loop of blue screens before getting my computer to start successfully. Can anyone help me out with this problem? Does anyone have any similar problem with ATI 4870 and Vista 64bit? Thanks in advance...

Well ATI 4870 is among one of the best performance high end graphics card. I don't think that the BSOD is caused by it... Did the BSOD had mentioned ATI as the culprit? But it is not necessarily the graphics card as mentioned in the BSOD screen. Well i suggest you to first try to re-install the drivers or update your graphics drivers. But the problem is elsewhere...

Yeah, Errors reported by BSOD may not always be true. I would suggest you to check your memory. If you have more then one chips installed, try installing both of them individually to sort out the problematic chip. Well you could use memtest86+ to test the memories too. Do post back. All the best...

Well first make sure you have correct drivers, secondly, update your Windows Vista and make sure SP1 is installed. If still you have problem i guess it is the motherboard that is causing it... Did you update your motherboard's BIOS? well BIOS are not updated shortly but you can give it a try... All the best. If the problem still exists post back! All the best...
