i need ur opinion for graphic upgrade

i need some help upgrading my system.
at present i have
intel core2 quad q9400
MSI P7NGM-DIGITAL (geforce 9300 based motherboard/730i)
4 gb corsair 800mhz ram (2 sticks)
3 hard disks (80gb,160bg n 750gb)
coolermaster cm690 case with 1 led fan(120 mm) n 3 normal fans(120 mm)
corsair vx450w smps.

i am thinking about buying ati 4770 graphic card. so i want to know will my 450 watt smps be able to handle the load?? coz even on corsair website, vx450w smps was recommended for dual cores, n 550+ for quad cores...:blink:

Well to ensure saftey, i would suggest you to upgrade your PSU and get a 750W unit...! You don't want to screw such a fantastic configuration, do you?

Since you have already checked on corsair website that for dual cores - 450 watt smps and for quad cores - its 550+ is what recommended by the manufacturers themselves, I would suggest you to upgrade the corsair to 550+ watts for better and smooth performance (since you have installed very heavy configurations on your system).

After upgrading to 550 or more watts power, I dont think there might be any problem in upgrading any new hardware to your system. You can easily go for the graphic card you need...

Recommended: more then 550W, just be on a safer side !

so i should first upgrade my smps, i guess i don't need 750watt, coz i'll never be buying very high end graphic card, n corsair tx650 with two 8 pin connectors will be enough for me (the price diff between vx550 n tx650 is not much here in India...), n maybe my inbuilt 9300 will be enough to run some games at very low settings for now....
