Keyboard unrecognized while installing Windows
Hi,
My problem is summarized by the title: I can not install Windows via Bootcamp XP Professional SP2 on the iMac 20 inch 2.66 Ghz that I just received.
After establishment of the Bootcamp partition dedicated to Windows (no problem at this stage), the process of installing Windows starts. The problem is that the key "enter" and "arrows" on my aluminum keyboard are not recognized and that the Windows installation can be done.
I also tried using an old keyboard on this one, the "enter" key is recognized but not the keys "arrows." I will not much further ...
Clearly, I'm stuck and I need your help.
Thank you in advance!
Re: Keyboard unrecognized while installing Windows
Hi,
I also had trouble to install Windows on Mac with BootCamp. Fortunately I had kept an old keyboard of a Imac G4 to launch the Windows installation.
In hope that Apple will find a solution for keyboard that is not necessarily compatible to launch the Windows system.
Re: Keyboard unrecognized while installing Windows
Hi,
You can reboot and hold down the OPTION key to have the computer show you all the choices of operating system on boot. That should let you choose Mac OS X again!
Re: Keyboard unrecognized while installing Windows
Problem solved: I asked to create a Bootcamp partition "only" 32 GB dedicated to Windows, then I used an old iMac keyboard whose keys "enter" and "arrows" were well recognized by 'Windows installer.
Concern: the numeric keypad on the keyboard of my aluminum iMac is not recognized: if someone has an idea, I'm interested. However the other keys work perfectly ...
