I work on a Vista computer at my office. I faced a problem several times in last one month, that when i login to my system which is having 4 users profile, While login i find that that a temporary profile has been loaded. And i get a error message:
Quote:

I lost all my settings due to this. Can any one of you make me know how can i sort out of this problem ?
Re: Help with Vista Log-on Error
Well, you can fix this problem with some registry changes.Just go through this steps, to fix the problem:-
1. Close all the Explorer and Click on the Start button.
2. Type msconfig in the white search line and press Enter.
3. You will see a pop-up of 'The System Configuration utility', here click on the boot tab and check mark in the Safe boot check box.
4. Now click Apply and OK. And than click restart.
5. Once your pc turned on in safe mode, Go to C:\Users.
6. Here you have to delete the directory of problematic user profile and Temp directory.
7. Now go to registry editor and locate the folder:-
Quote:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
8. Once located to this folder, find the correct SID and delete it.Check the key ProfileImagePath which has the profile path.
9.Now close the registry and restart the computer.
Thats it.. You fixed your problem, your profile folder is re-created.
