How do i disable printer properties page
Hey Guys,
I'm having three pc on which i had installed Windows Xp along with 2003 Servers running on it. I would like to know that how do i disable printer properties page, in order to restrict and prevent some user from accessing the printer properties page. Is it possible for me to do so? Kindly provide me the solution for doing so. Any kind of help on the above issue would be appreciated.
Thanks.

You can do a lot with Group Policy [gpedit.msc on local computer] under user configuration/administrative templates but I don't think you can restrict/hide printer properties. As far as I know the best you can do is to try not giving the user power user or administrative group membership and configure security settings in printer properties to restrict what a user can do to the printer.

Once you install network printing, you can use the Properties dialog box to set its properties. You access the Properties dialog box by doing the following:
1. Double-click on the Printers icon in the Control Panel or select Settings in the Start menu and then choose the Printers option.
2. Right-click on the icon of the printer you want to configure and then select Properties from the pop-up menu.
3. This opens the dialog box. You can now set the printer properties.

The options are stored in the Registry in the key:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
A value set to 0x00000001 disables access; deleting the value or setting it to 0 enables access.
