Avast or Symantec Antiviruse?
hi,
i run Avast in my computers at office it works pretty well.I am wondering if sysmentec would be better.I just want a second option for security purpose whether I should keep Avast or go with Symantec.Any recommendations and suggestions are appreciated.
Re: Avast or Symantec Antiviruse?
Avast is certainly much lighter (with respect to resource usage) than Symantec. Detection wise, they should both work very well - but it's the details (and the price) that makes the difference.
Avast has a 60-day trial period which is IMHO long enough to get acquinted with the product thoroughly and see if it meets your needs...
Re: Avast or Symantec Antiviruse?
Symantec Antivirus (Norton 360) is best by far-From my research, it runs A LOT faster now, so then I am going to get it for my birthday... heh heh heh...
Norton 360 has all the functions you ever wanted, runs by itself-No need to worry except for when you are paranoid (Not exactly) or get a new attachment, download, and run or when you get updates, 99.99% rocks!
Re: Avast or Symantec Antiviruse?
I didn't say I was happy with Symantec. And, my registration for it will not run out, as i have a permanent Symantec license. So, it is free for me, forever. Yet, I would like to see if avast works better for me. No reason that having Symantec files on the computer, not running at all, should be a problem for Avast. Avast should fix the problem that it seems to disable itself, if it sees that Symantec is installed, even though totally disabled and not running.
