Re: Esata port not working
To get eSATA working on an Asus motherboard, you just have to enable "JMicron RAID Controller" in the BIOS. or click on the unknown device and try to update the driver (PCI controller)
Re: Esata port not working
Does anything happen at all when you connect it?
Does the computer try to think about it? or does it just not react at all? It is possible that the Port is not enabled. Try downloading the latest chipset driver for your mother board and installing that.
Re: Esata port not working
When you plug in the external unit (and power it on) prior to boot, is the drive recognized by the system? That'll tell you if it's an issue with the Sata port, or with the E-Sata config.
You also mentioned that an internal drive works using that port, but does it work as e-sata? (Do you have a "safely remove this device" icon?)
