i this irregular detection problem is may be due to incompatibility of driver or due to hardware keyboard. just check first driver check manual of keyboard for compatible os. you can try PS2-to-USB Adaptors will allow any computer with PS2 ports to connect a USB keyboard and mouse.
Have you tried in all your motherboard USB ports? If you trying only in one USB port so that can be fault of USB port. Also first check your keyboard to some other PC that it is working fine or not.
Check whether the USB is connected properly to the slot of the processor cabinet, since most of the time there are issues with loose connections of the USB cables due to which the problem unnecessarily occurs...
I would like you to suggest for using keyboards with a ps/2 connection. For this, you need to get a connector that changes the usb to a PS/2.
