alcmtr.exe at startup, Is it a virus ?
Hello everyone,
With very sketchy knowledge in the analysis HijackThis I fell one day on a point that I was somewhat surprised.
The point being that famous file alcmtr.exe component Realtek drivers
While fully aware that setting the entry with HijackThis and deleting the file does not cause a prior, any malfunction. I am likely to take only very rarely a single reference to cash and therefore I try as often as possible to gather information.
My questions initially based on two findings:
- On all, or almost, the so-called reference lists (startup list) this file is marked as bad and especially spyware.
- Forced to see as my lectures so far and I think I am no anti-virus, anti spyware or other detects this file as such
A big question then grabbed me: how a file as widespread and recognized in the various bad startup long list may not be detected as such by the various security solutions?
So I proceed with these tips from MAD to a series of test if I may say so I sent this file to not less than 50 publishers of antivirus or anti-malware.

Hi,
Realtek AC97 Audio - Event Monitor. "Sypware" file used surreptitiously monitor one's actions. It is not a sinister one, like remote control programs, but it is being used by Realtek to gather data about customers
On GNT is not dangerous
If you have not disabled spybot for this key in "tools" "boot system"
You do, "Start" then "Run." type "msconfig" and then in the window that appears you go in the "Start" and you uncheck the box.
Caution the key can be reactivated at some updating (it happened to me)
This key is turned off at me and I have no worries.
Get you to your own idea (long live the free will). Being off the key in "msconfig let the possibility of reactivated in case of concern without reinstall your Realtek driver.
