PC crashes when I encode DVD
My problem with my PC is that I just formatted my PC, but I realized that when I encode a dvd, my pc crashes after some seconds.
I tested with 2 encoding software but the same result.
I did a search and saw that it could come from memory. So I removed a memory strip and it no longer crashes. I thought that was my ram strip faulty but I tried another and it reappeared.
Conclusion, with a single strip I can encode without crashing, as soon as I use the 2nd strip, crash ..
What might be the problem?
Re: PC crashes when I encode DVD
To start with do a memtest on each of your RAM strips. After memtest, download occt and do a cpu test to see if the temperature is not too high. Before making a occt, what are idle temperatures? Otherwise probability may be ram/ram slot faulty.
Re: PC crashes when I encode DVD
Thank you for your answer
CPU temperatures are normal, not more than 50°
If this ram slot is faulty, is there a solution?

Either you change slot to plug in your ram (so it will rest on the unused slots in running).
Either you buy a new strip with larger capacity to replace both and the branch that operates the slot.
Either you change the motherboard.

On this motherboard, there are 2 slot and as I have only 512 strip and that of DDR1 ...
It will be good tests.
