Intel Q6700 Overclocking?
hi,
i overclocked my intenl q6700,and i come to this conclusion :
1. 400x8 = 3200 MHz at 1.28 V rms. Vcore (BIOS 1.325) ie @ stock
or
2. 340x10 = 3400 MHz from 1.44 V eef. Vcore (BIOS 1.5 V)
i want to know How do I exactly OC and change the VCore for this processor? And does all four cores OC together or do I have to do them separately?at least I will not have the 1.5 V-BIOS setting go.
Re: Intel Q6700 Overclocking?
When using 1.5 V BIOS 3400Mhz only, I would stay at 3200Mhz. Saves a lot of power and is only ~ 6% slower (although at the low bus 340Mhz VS 400Mhz with 3400Mhz and practically no advantage anymore). Also you could be in default Vcore power saving mechanisms, not the use EIST etc.
Would be worth 1.5 V until 3600Mhz.
Re: Intel Q6700 Overclocking?
1) You have tried each RAM stick on its own, yes?
2) You have lowered the memory divider, yes? Far preferable to arseing about with the timings.

but the idle temp is reduced according to Everest 5:10 by about 5 ° C.
9x400 also at 1.5 V does not. Higher voltages, I don't wanted to test, because not even the computer POST screen displays, but after 2 attempts the same again on default settings switch back.
