Setting up display resolution for Samsung 225bw
Hello Everyone,
Recently i had bought up a new Samsung 225bw. The problem is that i'm unable to set 1680x1050 resolution for my pc. Can any body help me out to set the display resolution for my pc? Does any body knows about it? kindly help me out to resolve the above problem.

Re: Setting up display resolution for Samsung 225bw
The quality of display will depend upon the panel, the chip which drives it and the video card output/port. If those things are all good, a VGA display will be a sharp as a DVI display.
I suspect the DVI output of your monitor is faulty or the DVI port of your video card is faulty.

The problem is here: (--) NVIDIA(0): Samsung SyncMaster (DFP-0): 135.0 MHz maximum pixel clock
Code:
According to the EDID, your display requires at least a 147Mhz pixelclock for the 1680x1050 mode:
(--) NVIDIA(0): 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz
(--) NVIDIA(0): Pixel Clock : 146.25 MHz
(--) NVIDIA(0): HRes, HSyncStart : 1680, 1784
(--) NVIDIA(0): HSyncEnd, HTotal : 1960, 2240
(--) NVIDIA(0): VRes, VSyncStart : 1050, 1053
(--) NVIDIA(0): VSyncEnd, VTotal : 1059, 1089
(--) NVIDIA(0): H/V Polarity : -/+
Re: Setting up display resolution for Samsung 225bw
226BW should be the best 22'' around but some people say they started to use AUO panels that isnt that high quality as the Samsung panels.
You can see what model u got on the stickers of the back of the monitor ''A'' panels is AUO and ''S'' is the Samsung panels, but so far in the US its the S version which is Samsung's own panels.

You can also try to upgrade your video drivers, in order to get better resolution on your system.
