IPhone synchronization with iCal
Hi,
I cannot synchronize the tasks in iCal. Apple again worked half. We need this function that comes standard in the mac world for years, but nothing happens other. Can anyone explain to us the limitations Apple was facing that forced them to opt for a version of iCal where you can't make appointments on your different iCal calendars (or view them, for that matter) on the go? Why would anyone using Mac syncing of their iCal calendars even consider the iPhone and iTouch??? We won't be able to get either until this is fixed...
Re: IPhone synchronization with iCal
Hi,
I too am very disappointed by the non-implementation tasks iCal! because I use a lot with my sony ericsson, who walked sync!
In addition it was made under ipod it seems to me not?
... I don't feedback on the Apple site ....
I hope this will be in the next version of the iphone os ...
Re: IPhone synchronization with iCal
Things did not need the Internet ... The synchronization happens through wifi and not via the Internet and the difference is important. Let me explain: it is necessary to synchronize an iPhone / iPod with Things open and connected to a wifi network, and a Mac with Things open and connected to the same network. Whether this network is connected to the Internet. And without the Internet or router, you can certainly create a network on your Mac, connect the iPhone to this network, and synchronize everything. I hope I was clear, but if not, do not hesitate to seek a new explanation ...
As against, if you do not want simple tasks, Things is a bit extreme. The Mac application is currently free (in beta version, it will pay once finalized) so you can test without charge to make you an idea. With the management of tags, "areas" and other projects, the system is much more powerful than what is proposed iCal.
If you do a search on the AppStore, you'll find dozens of applications to handle tasks. For against, most do not synchronize, or synchronize via Internet only. I may be wrong, but from what I saw, it is usually non-synchronization is the rule.
As for the notes, they are to my knowledge not synchronized, one way or another.
It is amazing, I had the iPod long "standard" and I've never noted it. Appointments were synchronized, but not tasks. Finally, if you say, you certainly right ...
Re: IPhone synchronization with iCal
I had the same problem and this fixed it.
1. Go to iTunes and select your phone.
2. Uncheck sync calendar.
3. Sync Phone
4. Select sync calendar then select "selected calendars"
5. Select all of the calendars you need.
6. Go to bottom in Advanced section select replace calendar.
7. Sync Phone
Everything synced fine from phone to machine and from machine back to phone after this. Apparently iCal generates some bogus calendar if you select "all calendars".
Good luck!
