Contrast/Saturation in Windows/PhotoShop
Hello. Sorry for somewhat vague title...
When I use Windows Photo Gallery to preview photos, the images have good contrast and color saturation. When I open the same image in Photoshop (CS3) the image becomes very dingy and lose both contrast and color saturation.
Guess it is because the two programs use different color profiles, have tried to change this but failed to achieve any significant results. I'm using a relatively new HP w2207h monitor and an ATI 4850 graphic card.
What to do?
Re: Contrast/Saturation in Windows/PhotoShop
Calibrate the screen. What you can drive for the color profile in photoshop?
Re: Contrast/Saturation in Windows/PhotoShop
The screen is calibrated, not perfect but some IAF. Have a little problem with the graphics card in the transitions between light-dark. Poor calibration should not give different results in different programs?
Re: Contrast/Saturation in Windows/PhotoShop
Nah it is because it is different color profiles as you type. Do not think it is possible to get the colors especially good in windows, is probably best to concentrate on it that looks good in PhotoShop (if you are printing pictures, etc.). Run Adobe RGB instead.
Re: Contrast/Saturation in Windows/PhotoShop
Ok! Since I assume that Photoshop shows right with Adobe RGB as the color profile. I want to be sure that my photos should be as fine on your screen as they are on my screen.
Thanks for your help!
::Edit::
Tests to change the Windows default color profile to Adobe, too.
