- Become an expert on the CIA exam. To outperform other CIA candidates, you must know more about the CIA exam than they do. This expertise includes knowledge of the subject matter covered on the exam, how the exam is prepared, the types of questions on the exam, the rules for exam administration, and the procedures that will be followed when you take the exam.
