Re: How do i add background Music to Emails in outlook
First, ensure Outlook Express is set for HTML compliant emails. Launch Outlook Express, click Tools -> Options -> Send tab, and ensure that "Mail Sending Format" has "HTML" selected. Click Apply, and then OK.
To insert a graphic into your outgoing email, click the Create Mail button and a new window will appear. Next, click on the body of the message, and Insert -> Picture. If you don't click on the body of the message before clicking Insert -> Picture, the menu will appear 'ghosted' and will not allow you to insert a picture file.
To insert music into the email, follow the same steps above, except click Format -> Background -> Sound as the final instruction. Note that the sound file must be in MIDI, AIFF, SND, WAV, or WMA format (.MP3 files are not supported).

To add background sound to an email in Outlook:
* Step by Step Screenshot Walkthrough
* Create a new message using HTML formatting in Outlook.
* Download the following file to your Desktop: zbgsound.htm.
* Start Notepad.
* Open the zbgsound.htm file you just downloaded in Notepad.
* Replace ###path to background sound file### with the path to the desired background sound file.
o The line could read <img src="C:\Documents and Settings\lsdoe\My Documents\My Music\lsdoem.mid" id="bgsound", for example.
* Select File | Save from the menu.
* In the Outlook message, select Insert | File... from the menu.
* Go to your Desktop.
* Highlight zbgsound.htm.
* Click on the right down arrow of the Insert button.
* Select Insert as Text.
* Continue editing your message.
After the message is sent, you can close Notepad and delete the zbgsound.html file, of course.
Your Background Music May Not Play Automatically
Be aware that the background sound will not automatically play in most email clients. Some recipients might only see an attachment they can open to hear your sound.
Re: How do i add background Music to Emails in outlook
You can certainly insert a music file into an email (be sure to be clicked within the body of the email)from the Insert TAB > Text Group > Object > From File > Browse for the music file.
I doubt it will play automatically when the email is opened, it will probably go through as an attachment which opens the door for it being blocked by the security on the receivers computer.
OR
I strongly suggest you reconsider this. I woulbe very annoyed if I opened an e-mail that started playing music without my permission. The sender doesn't now WHERE the recipeint will open it. The same thing goes for WEB sites. I will close the mail or click off the site.
If you want to send them music (and there is no copyright issue), then use a link or attach a file.
