cannot install Windows 7 on Asus P5Q

Did somebody install Windows 7 on a P5Q? Because for me, that really does not function. I have this error message:
“drive required CD/DVD device driver is missing….”

I pointed on the DVD of Asus to provide driver for SATA/RAID, I really tested with all that is on the DVD and which has relationship with the ICH 10R. I even tested with different drivers that I found on the Internet.
Then I changed the mode of my SATA controller; IDE, RAID, AHCI and AHCI Compatibility mode and still it gets to nothing, gives me the same result again. Also tested the installation via USB key but that didnt work as well. Can anyone help me out. Thank you

Mine auto detected all the drivers I needed except my sound card, though I haven't tried using the vista drivers yet. Maybe it's different without RAID, since I don't use it. (My ASRock 4CoreTwins-P35 was a solid predecessor, but did not have the latest ICH, just had a normal set of four SATAs based all off the Intel plus a JMicron IDE controller.)

Here is what you have to do to get the drivers to install. Insert the disc that has the drivers on it. Now use explorer to goto the actual setup file and right click and goto properties. Under compatability choose windows vista and also check at the bottom run as administrator. This will allow you to install the ethernet driver. Have fun.

Format the drive before you try to install on it. MAke sure IDE settings in Bios and your jumpers are correct. Unlpug anything else other HDDs and and USB devices you dont need.

There are issues about detecting IDE HDD's and Asus brought up a few new bios upgrades because of that. We destroyed 2 P5Q by upgrading (there is a thread in this forum).

Check your bios and driver versions and go to

and check your mobo bios. Just be careful when burning new bios.

The solution in very simple: use a sata dvd-rom or writer no an IDE one.
