Sending an MP3 file with Thunderbird
I tried to send attached in an MP3 file (song) from 8.65MB. Thunderbird refuses to send it because it is too high and asks me to reduce it. I obviously know that the MP3 is itself a compressed file. Is there a way to send the post?
Thank you for your advice.
Re: Sending an MP3 file with Thunderbird
Through Thunderbird, I do not know, but you can always go through an uploader like megaupload.com, simply add the link in the message and then it's done.
Re: Sending an MP3 file with Thunderbird
Your email provider may limit the attachment size and a little is also added usually by an MUA's own encoding.
Normally the limits are in the region of 5Mb-10Mb
Re: Sending an MP3 file with Thunderbird
Well as I have already said, my MP3 attachment is well below 10MB. The limit of all my providers are 10MB. What would be my problem? I do not think the problem is the limit of the attachment usually in outlook express I did not have this kind of problems to send attachments upto 10MB.
Re: Sending an MP3 file with Thunderbird
This is a known 'feature' that sometimes Thunderbird may have problems with sending big files, especially when running on a PC with antivirus software checking outgoing mail. Once I supposed this might depend on the provider but I never have such problems after I switched to Linux :ohyeah:
